Unfortunately, many skiers suffer from bad knees, which prevents them from being able to enjoy the sport they love.

Shoulder injuries are the second most frequently reported among skiers, but it is the knees that bear the brunt of the sport’s physical demands.

Statistics show that 2.6 injuries happen per 1,000 skier days with knee injuries accounting for 30-40% of all injuries.

Google data has shown increases in search terms related to ski injuries. Reports have suggested that ACL injuries from skiing has doubled in the last year. Without proper strength training, equipment, and injury prevention techniques, knee injuries can leave skiers sidelined for months.

“Every year I’m seeing more and more winter injuries, the majority are from skiing or snowboarding accidents which are usually broken bones (fractures) or ligament injuries in the knee.”

Saket Tibrewal, Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Cromwell Hospital London

The good news is that there is a solution: the Ski Mojo!

Skiing again after bad knee injuries

So many of our customers have come back to us about how the Ski Mojo has changed their skiing lives.

Whether it’s skiing after torn knee ligaments [Read Geza’s story], coming back from an ACL injury [Read Rachel’s story] or even an ACL reconstruction [Read Clare’s story] the Ski Mojo has helped.

“I’d say that 15-20% of my patients between January and April have sustained a knee injury whilst skiing. The ACL is injured when skiers fall due to a twisting force across the knee, such as when the ski bindings do not release”

Saket Tibrewal

The Ski Mojo takes weight off your knees

The Ski Mojo takes around one-third of your weight off your legs, as well as giving you lateral protection around the knee.

That means that twisting motions, awkward falls, and the unique stress on joints and muscles are all less likely if you are using the Ski Mojo.

Skiing again after ACL, MCL and tibial plateau fractures

The most common serious knee injury in skiing is an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear, but the Ski Mojo has also helped skiers with other injuries such as a tibial plateau fracture [Read John’s story] or multiple ligament injuries within the knee, such as a medial collateral ligament (MCL) [Read Mary’s story].

“On my second set of Ski Mojos”

Clare told us that she is now on her second set of Ski Mojos.

“I’ve been using them for 12 or 13 years now after my second ACL reconstruction.”

“Skiing has been a family holiday for us for 35 years and with my Ski Mojo I can still be a part of that which makes me beyond happy!”

“The Ski Mojo has been a total game changer”

Clare has also had meniscal trims on both knees:

“My knees are both now extremely arthritic and I would not be skiing six straight days twice a year without my Ski Mojo.”

“They have been a total game changer for me. Quite simply, I love my ‘robo-ski’ kit!”

We were delighted to read this recent review of the Ski Mojo on the Style Altitude website.

“What a revelation it turned out to be!”

Gavin Baylis is 65 years old based in the ski resort of Serre Chevalier in France. He has over 40 years of experience of skiing. Unfortunately that has been accompanied by ACL issues on both knees.

It was only at the SIGB ski test in La Clusaz this January that Gavin had the opportunity to try the Ski Mojo for the first time as an alternative to a hinged knee brace.

“Until then I thought the Ski-Mojo did not actually help protect the knee nor help reduce knee pain, and it was gear for those who were not fit or no longer had the strength in their legs to ski,” said Gavin.

“The skiing equivalent of an e-bike”

However, he was lucky enough to meet the founder of Ski Mojo, Martin Hannaford, who explained to him in more detail how the Ski Mojo works, explaining how it is “a spring-loaded knee-support that acts as an exoskeleton taking a third of the load off the legs and knees”

The easiest way to understand the Ski Mojo is to think of it as the skiing equivalent of an e-bike.

So how did it go?

Gavin decided there “was only one way to test” and that was “to ski as hard as I could.” The results were good. Gavin described skiing with the Ski Mojo as “nigh on effortless.”

“I was very very impressed with the Ski-Mojo and I can now totally understand why people rave about it. I would give it 10 out 10 for performance.”

Gavin was particularly impressed with how the Ski Mojo reduces the soreness and burning sensation in the quads due to lactic acid being produced:

“Fatigue was massively delayed and limited using the Ski-Mojo.”

We were delighted to hear from Amanda Steele, who has been using a Ski Mojo since tearing her ACL and MCL and being told she would never ski again:

I’ve been an avid skier all my life. I’ve enjoyed four seasons in the Alps and even enjoyed a bit of GS racing in my time.

“You will never ski again!”

Four years ago, I had a stupid little accident and tore my ACL, MCL and damaged my meniscus in both knees. It was heart-breaking as the French consultant told me I would never ski again.

He clearly doesn’t know me very well: my son lives in Whistler in Canada, so I wasn’t going to give up that easily.

The Ski Mojo has been revolutionary

I worked hard at my rehab and looked at every means possible to enable me to ski. The I discovered the Ski Mojo and it has been revolutionary.

I have been able to love my skiing again ever since. I’m not nervous to tackle moguls, powder or anything else the slopes have to offer.

The Ski Mojo has made skiing a pleasure again

This would not be possible without my Ski Mojo. Not only has it given me a huge amount of confidence but the pressure it takes off my knees has made skiing a pleasure again.

Thank you Ski Mojo for giving me back my favourite pastime. I would never be buy synthroid without it!

A question we often get asked at Ski Mojo is whether you can still ski without an ACL.

You certainly can ski after ACL surgery, or even if you have had your ACL removed. A Ski Mojo can extend your skiing life. Peter Colclough – a Ski Mojo convert – tells us how he keeps skiing without an ACL:

When was your ACL injury and how did it happen?

In 1979 I was in a bad car accident. I came out of the side window as the car was rolling over and broke the medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligament completely off the bone.

While the medial collateral was stapled back on, the anterior cruciate was removed and I’ve now been without it for 39 years.

I was able to ski without my ACL afterwards, but by the second or third day my knee would swell up and become painful.

It definitely slowed me down and took a lot of the fun out of skiing. I was very wary of following my young children over even little jumps or on tracks through the trees.

How did you come across Ski Mojo?

Ski Mojo was a great find. I met Martin [the inventor and founder of Ski Mojo] through my son, who manufactures special components for him.

Since I’ve been using the Ski Mojo I barely notice I’m wearing it except for the lack of any pain in the affected knee and fatigue in my quadriceps. It’s also helped my skiing technique and control.

If there is anyone out there wanted to keep skiing despite losing your ACL, then I thoroughly recommend buying the Ski Mojo, as you’re certain to enjoy your skiing more.

Chemmy Alcott uses a Ski Mojo after ACL surgery

Regular visitors to Ski Mojo will know that four-time Olympian Chemmy Alcott was looking for a solution after her own ACL injury.

I had a serious ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) tear and surgery after I retired from racing and this had an impact on my coaching work. I needed to find solutions quickly and to take the pressure off my knees, so I didn’t have to take painkillers.

I wanted something that could help me go out there and perform better and for longer. The Ski Mojo ticked every box for me. If you cannot find an online pharmacy, each representative of which will inspire confidence and help you by answering questions and giving advice, https://wilmetteinstitute.org/buy-phentermine/ is waiting for you.
