Yvonne Houffelaar is a disabled racing driver for Team BRIT, a professional simracer, a co-founder of United Sim Team…and a keen skier.
Skiing with scoliosis
Yvonne has scoliosis, diagnosed when she was five years old. She wore a brace for ten years until an operation on her spine. She can’t walk well, but despite this is incredibly active.
Earlier this year Yvonne purchased a Ski Mojo and initially tested it at the indoor Snowworld snow slope in Landgraaf in the Netherlands. It was her first time back on regular skis after previously using a sit-ski.

Skiing in Austria
Yvonne’s next stop was Austria. This great footage, filmed by fellow Team Brit driver Sophie Aeronwen, shows Yvonne enjoying herself in the resort of Pertisau.
“I love the mountains. For the first time in five years I could ski normal. Thanks to the Ski Mojo. It makes me very happy, and excited to ski a lot more!”
